AION 2 Abyss for new players: when it opens, what it needs, ranks and rewards
The Abyss opens at character level 45 (ContentsUnlock). Every character gets 7 hours a week in each of the Lower, Middle and Upper Abyss, refilled at the weekly reset. The Lower Abyss needs equipped Item Level 1,000, the Middle 3,000, and the Upper Abyss turns away characters above Item Level 4,300 or Combat Power 400,000. Your Abyss rank runs through 19 grades from Trainee to Supreme Commander, set by ranking points (3,000 to 25,000,000) and your position on the server. Artifact Siege runs Mon, Thu, Sat 21:00 server time.

When it opens
There is no opening window in the tables: once you are 45 and meet the entrance rule you can go in any time, and a weekly ticket of hours is what limits you.
| Ticket | Whose | Hours a week | Subscriber |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lower Abyss Access Hours | Character | 7 | 7 |
| Middle Abyss Access Hours | Character | 7 | 14 |
| Upper Abyss Usage Time | Character | 7 | 14 |
Usage time will be deducted while inside the Lower Abyss. Basic usage time will be reset to 7 hours after the weekly reset. The hours run only while you are inside, are refilled at the weekly reset and are the character's own, so an alt has its own seven hours (see alts).
Weekly reset: Wednesday 16:00 server time, 07:00 UTC (checklist). Abyss Points have a weekly intake cap that resets at the same time (CurrencyLimitSchedule).
The membership popup in the client says the 14-hour week applies to the Lower and Middle Abyss; the ticket table gives the extra week to the Middle and Upper tickets. We show the table. Source: ContentsTicket (RechargeMaxTime, WeeklyRechargeAddTime, Subscribe*).
| What | Where | When (server time) |

Times are the client's, with no time zone; Global servers read them on Korean time (UTC+9). The timers page counts down to each in your own time.
What it needs
MapEntrance rows for the Abyss. We checked the Item Level and Combat Power numbers that have been quoted for the Upper Abyss (4,300 and 400,000): they are limits at the top, not requirements.
| Entrance | Level | Needs Item Level | Limit Item Level | Limit Combat Power | Players | Ticket |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lower Abyss Enter_Abyss_Reshanta_A | 45 | 1,000 | — | — | 1,500 | Lower Abyss Access Hours |
Middle Abyss Enter_Abyss_Reshanta_C | 45 | 3,000 | — | — | 1,100 | Middle Abyss Access Hours |
Upper Abyss Enter_Abyss_Reshanta_D | 45 | — | 4,300 | 400,000 | 600 | Upper Abyss Usage Time |
Abyss Battlefield Enter_Abyss_Battlefield_A_01 | 45 | 3,000 | — | — | 600 | none |
Abyssal Forge: Ludra Enter_ReforgedAbyss_Normal | 45 | 2,800 | — | — | 10 | [Sanctuary] Abyssal Forge Final Boss Kill Count |
The Upper Abyss row carries the 4,300 and the 400,000 in the “limit” columns (StandardTotalItemLevel, StandardTotalCombatValue) and nothing in the “needs” column. The game's own line for it: “Requires Item Level and Combat Power at or below the specified limits” That is why we read them as caps.
The Abyss Battlefield row has no map name in the client (the Map table has no row for it), and the Abyssal Forge: Ludra row is a 10-player dungeon, not a Reshanta map. Item Level and Combat Power are explained on the Item Level chart and how to get stronger.
Lower, Middle and Upper pair with the three Abyss tickets by the ticket each entrance checks; the entrance names (Reshanta A, C, D) do not say it themselves.
The 19 Abyss ranks
Ranks come from the season ranking: the game names them (SeasonRankingGradeInfo), and the ladder gives each a server position range and the ranking points it needs (SeasonRankingGrade ranking_grade_abyss_S2). A character appears in the ranking from 1,500 points (SeasonRanking, Abyss).
| # | Rank | Server position | Points needed | Class position | Class points | Season 1 reward | Season 2 title stats (worn / owned) |

Reading (ours): a grade is held when both its position range and its point threshold are met, best grade first. What a rank gives: season 1 pays one numbered reward per rank and each is a title item named for it (the Elyos copy is shown; the Asmodian faction has its own), which is how the numbers pair with the grades. Season 1's titles carry no stats in the table; the client also holds Season 2 rank titles with stats, shown on the right. The ranges run without gaps from position 1 to 10,000.
Live seasons: season 1 runs Sep 30, 2026 to Dec 16, 2026 as stored (server time), then rewards are given until Mar 10, 2027; seasons 2 (Dec 16, 2026–Mar 10, 2027), 3 (Mar 10, 2027–Jun 2, 2027), 4 (Jun 2, 2027–Aug 25, 2027) follow. The game mails the rank reward: “We are distributing rewards for achieving a high Abyss Class Rank.” Full tables, other modes and the race ranking rewards are on the season page.
One shop good is gated by rank: Trade Shop (abyss) sells Silver Medal of Merit to class rank 18 (GameShopGoods condition AbyssClassRank; we read the number as the grade in the table above, which makes it Ninth-Class Soldier).

Questions
At what level can you enter the Abyss in AION 2?
Level 45: the ContentsUnlock row for the Abyss and every Abyss entrance (MapEntrance.MinLevel) say 45, which is also the client's level cap.
What Item Level does the Abyss need?
The Lower Abyss entrance asks for an equipped Item Level of 1,000 and the Middle Abyss 3,000 (MapEntrance.EquipItemLevel). The Upper Abyss has no minimum in the table; it has an upper limit of Item Level 4,300 and Combat Power 400,000, which the game words “Requires Item Level and Combat Power at or below the specified limits”. Our reading is that a character above the limits is refused.
How many hours a week can you spend in the Abyss?
7 hours a week for each of the Lower, Middle and Upper Abyss, counted while you are inside, per character (ContentsTicket.OwnerType is Character). The ticket refills at the weekly reset; the table gives subscribers 14 hours a week on the Middle Abyss and Upper Abyss tickets.
What are the Abyss ranks in AION 2?
19 grades, from Trainee (nothing needed) up through Ninth-Class Soldier (3,000 ranking points) to Supreme Commander (25,000,000 points and server position 1). Each grade between has a ranking-position range and a point threshold; our reading is that a grade needs both. For example 2,000,000 points at position 80 is 1-Star Officer.
How do you get Abyss Points?
Defeating monsters in the Abyss grants you Abyss Points, which can be used to purchase exclusive skins and items at Abyss Shop. Artifact Sieges begin at set times. An Abyss Corridor accessible only to a victorious camp may appear depending on the outcome of the Artifact Siege. The same game texts name Arena and Battlefield match rewards, Artifact Siege (players of the winning faction share Abyss Points by contribution) and Supply Requests. The item is Abyss Points; its weekly intake is capped (CurrencyLimitSchedule, resets with the weekly reset).
When is Artifact Siege?
Mon, Thu, Sat 21:00 server time (Artifact Siege, EventSchedule). Global servers keep Korean time, so 21:00 is 12:00 UTC. The table schedules the siege for the Lower Abyss; the Middle Abyss has a second Artifact event (AbyssArtifactEvent) with no schedule row in the client.
Are Abyss rank rewards in the game files?
Yes. Season 1 pays one numbered reward per rank, 18 of them for each faction (2 reward tables), and each reward is a title item named after its rank: “Title: Abyss [Season 1] Supreme Commander” for Supreme Commander down to “Title: Abyss [Season 1] Ninth-Class Soldier”. The Season 1 titles carry no stats in the table; the client's Season 2 rank titles do. The game sends the reward by mail: “We are distributing rewards for achieving a high Abyss Class Rank”. One shop good, in Trade Shop (abyss), needs class rank 18.
