Odyle Energy: cap, refill and what it buys

560 cap, +15 every 3 hours, 20–40 energy per reward cube (40 in most modes).

Odyle Energy refills 15 every 3 hours (120 a day) up to 560, or 840 with the subscription; the subscription raises only the cap, not the speed. Every reward cube you open at the end of an Expedition, Transcendence or Sanctuary run costs 20–40 energy (40 in most modes), so a day of refill pays for 3 cubes and a full bar of 560 for 14. An empty bar is full again after 4.8 d; stay away longer and the refill is lost. Each cube also counts toward the dungeon's guaranteed reward, which comes after 1–28 cubes depending on the mode. Numbers are from ContentsTicket and RewardOdEnergyCube in 2.0.6.0 hotfix 1.

Formula and assumptions are under the calculator. All dungeons

Formula (ours): energy when you play = min(cap, held + refills × 15), refills = whole 3-hour cycles inside the wait; cubes = floor(energy ÷ cost); days to the guaranteed reward = max(0, cubes needed × cost − held) ÷ 120 a day; bar full in = ceil((cap − held) ÷ 15) cycles × 3 hours.

Assumptions: refills land on the 3-hour grid, so a wait shorter than one cycle adds nothing (the client does not say whether a partial cycle is kept); an amount you hold above the cap (from recharge items) is kept and the refill does not add to it; the days count only refill, no recharge items; you spend the energy on cubes of this one mode; reward counts per dungeon (the weekly and daily claims on the checklist) are a separate limit and not modelled.

Kinah in the cube = the always-given Kinah rows (chance 100%) of the final boss table plus the mid-boss tables, unbound and bound added; see the Kinah page for the weekly reduction. A * marks modes whose boss tables the client points at another dungeon (a placeholder; the real chest is server-side), so their cost and ceiling are real but the Kinah is Draupnir's.

36 more modes the entrance table puts above the level cap

Their entrances ask for character level 99, above the client's cap of 45: not open yet, and the files do not say what opens them.

How to get more Odyle Energy

Every route the client tables show. The market has no Odyle Energy: all recharge items are Non Exchangeable, and market prices are not in the client anyway.

The automatic refill

15 energy every 3 hours up to 560: 120 a day, 840 a week. Playing every 4.8 d or sooner loses nothing.

The subscription

“Odyle Energy automatically recharges by 15 points every 3 hours. The maximum amount is raised to 840.” Same speed, a bigger bar: 840 fills in 7 d.

Duty mission bonus roll

146 Duty missions can pay a Small Odyle Energy (Bound) as their bonus roll, about 5.7% per completion (our calculation from QuestReward). With 5 completions a day that is roughly 2.8 energy a day, next to 120 from the refill.

Mentor rewards, passes and attendance

Mentor dungeon clears pay 1–4 Small Odyle Energy of Gratitude (RewardMentor, up to 2 times a clear). The season pass (8 BattlePass rows) lists 200 energy of Odyle items in its Premium track.

Other places the tables put recharge items

28 items recharge Odyle Energy; 18 of them (7-day and 30-day versions, Season versions, mail gifts) have no source in the tables, which usually means an event or support mail. Item pages carry the full tables. Daily Duty missions and the weekly reward counts are on the checklist.

Odyle Energy questions

What is Odyle Energy used for in AION 2?

It pays for the Odyle Energy Cube that appears when you clear an Expedition (Exploration or Conquest), Transcendence or Sanctuary dungeon. The client's guide says: "A system used when receiving Odyle Energy Cube Rewards from Expedition (Exploration/Conquest), Transcendence, and Sanctuary content. When opening a Cube, Odyle Energy can be infused up to 2 times. You must own enough Odyle Energy before you can claim the additional rewards." A cube costs 20–60 energy depending on the mode, most often 40.

How much Odyle Energy can I store?

560, or 840 with the subscription (ContentsTicket RechargeMaxCount and SubscribeRechargeMaxCount). The same row has an ItemChargeMaxCount of 2,000; our reading of the name is that recharge items can lift the bar that far while the automatic refill stops at the cap. The client does not say it in words.

How fast does Odyle Energy refill?

15 energy every 3 hours, which is 120 a day. The subscription does not change the speed (SubscribeTimeRechargeCount is also 15); it only raises the cap. From empty, the 560 bar fills in 4.8 d and the 840 bar in 7 d; past that the refill is lost, so log in before then.

When does Odyle Energy refill?

The row has no daily or weekly refill (DailyRechargeCount and WeeklyRechargeCount are 0 and 0); it runs on the 3-hour cycle. The cycle's start time is stored as 16:00, the same hour as the daily reset, which on Global servers is read as Korean time (07:00 UTC). That makes our reading of the refill moments every three hours from 07:00 UTC; the client itself names no time zone.

How do I get more Odyle Energy?

Four ways appear in the tables: the automatic refill; recharge items (Odyle Energy gives 40, Small Odyle Energy gives 10) from the Wind Breeze Merchants, event shops, chests, passes and attendance rewards; the Duty mission bonus roll (about 5.7% per completion for one Small Odyle Energy); and two achievements. The sources table above lists each one.

Can I buy Odyle Energy with Kinah?

Yes. The cash shop's Wind Breeze Merchants sell Odyle Energy (Bound) for 100,000 Kinah each, limited to 4 a week per character and 16 a week per server (BMShopGoods); that is 160 energy a week per character for 400,000 Kinah. Prices of other shops are in the table above. Market prices are not in the client.

Is a cube worth the energy?

Each cube counts toward the dungeon's guaranteed reward, and the cube's boss tables carry Kinah: 200,000 unbound Kinah in a Krao Cave Conquest cube, before the weekly reduction the client applies when a server plays a mode a lot. The numbers per mode, and the reduction, are on the Kinah page. Whether it is worth it for gear depends on the reward, which the client's chest tables do not list for most newer modes.
