AION 2 macros

How the in-game macro system works, in the game's own words, and a skill table with a starting order for every class.

AION 2 has a built-in macro system: a macro is a list of skill steps, each with a delay of 10–9,900 ms, you can keep up to 20 of them, and the hotkey runs it while it is held down. Pick a class below for its skills with cooldown, cast time, damage per cast, damage per second of cooldown, range and follow-up skills, and a starting order computed from that data — not a tested rotation.

How the macro system works

The game's own strings, quoted by key. Nothing below is our wording except the labels.

1. Setup - Use the Add Macro button to add steps. - A delay can be set for each step. 2. How to Use - PC: Hotkeys can be configured in Settings > Key Settings > General > Macro. The macro executes while the assigned hotkey is held down. - All: If manual input occurs during macro execution, manual input always takes precedence. 3. Warning - If you set a mouse operation-related button as a hotkey, that hotkey will not function in AION 1 Control Mode. - Macros will continuously attempt to advance to the next step. As such, step order is not guaranteed.

What a news article adds

Not in the client files — quoted from a source, not tested here.

mein-mmo, 6 Oct 2026 reports: bind the macro key in Settings > Key Settings > General > Gameplay; open Skill menu > Skill-Macros > Add Macro; skills stacked in one hotbar slot fire from the bottom up, the bottom one with the highest priority; holding the key repeats; skills on cooldown are skipped.

Where the two differ: the client names the key category "Macro" and says macros "continuously attempt to advance to the next step. As such, step order is not guaranteed." This site does not test the live game, so the class pages order skills by data and label the order a starting point.

How the class tables are worked out

Cooldown, cast time, range, hits and damage come from the Skill, SkillLv and SkillEffect tables at the highest level skill points reach. Per cast = ratio × hits (the tables keep the ratio ×100); per second of cooldown = per cast ÷ cooldown. Priority 1 goes to the highest per second, then the attacks with no cooldown by share per use. Follow-ups are Skill rows with ChainSkillPrevSkillId (20 of them for the classes).

Questions

How do I set up macros in AION 2?

The game's own text: use the Add Macro button to add steps, set a delay for each step, and bind the hotkey in Settings > Key Settings > General > Macro. The macro executes while the hotkey is held down, and manual input always takes precedence. mein-mmo (mein-mmo, 6 Oct 2026) describes the same flow as Skill menu > Skill-Macros > Add Macro.

What is the best macro for my class?

The files cannot say: they hold no combat model. Each class page lists the numbers a macro builder needs and a starting order computed from skill data (Attack per second of cooldown). It is not a tested rotation.

Do stacked skills fire from the bottom up?

mein-mmo (mein-mmo, 6 Oct 2026) reports bottom-up firing with the bottom skill at the highest priority and cooldown skills being skipped. The client's own text warns that "step order is not guaranteed". Both are quoted as given; this site cannot test server behavior.

Is there a combo activation chance?

20 follow-up skills are in the Skill table (ChainSkillPrevSkillId): using the opening skill makes a second skill available for a short window. For every playable class the activation rate is 100% and the window 3 s / 20 s, so the tables hold no random combo chance for class skills.

How many macros can I save and how short can a delay be?

20 macros (skill_macro_list_max) and a delay of 10–9,900 ms per step.
