AION 2 controls and keybinds: the default keys

156 actions in 20 groups, each with the game's own name and its default keyboard key and gamepad button.

AION 2 defaults to WASD for movement (arrow keys work too), Space to jump or glide, Shift to sprint, V to start and stop flying, C to mount, F to interact, M for the map, I for the inventory (the game calls it the Cube) and K for skills. These are the client's InputKeyMapping defaults for 156 actions, 38 of which ship with no key. The game lists them in its key window under the group names used below.

How we read the table

InputKeyMapping holds 166 rows. We list 156: those with a category and a name in the game's key window. Left out: 2 developer rows (Open Dev UI, Open Test UI) and 8 internal rows with no name or category (mouse look, mouse-wheel zoom, the Android back button and a pad cursor mode). 38 listed actions have no key and no button by default and show a dash.

The table stores letter keys under scrambled names (the Move Forward row says “r”, Interact says “c”). InputKeyText pairs every stored name with the key picture the game draws for it, and that picture is the key we print: the stored “r” is drawn as W, the stored “c” as F. All 152 distinct bindings resolved; 0 key names could not be named. This reading is ours (the table does not spell it out); it gives W, A, S, D for movement and Space for jump.

The client has no art for keys (the key pictures are not in the shipped textures), so keys are drawn as plain key caps. Gamepad buttons are named by position because the table does not say which pad layout it follows.

Questions

How do you fly in AION 2?

Press V (the game calls it “Start Flight / Stop”) to take off and press it again to stop. While flying, Ctrl + R flies up and Ctrl + F flies down (“Fly Up”, “Fly Down”). The game's on-screen hint while flying says “Change to Glide” for Space and “Quick Fly” for Shift. All from InputKeyMapping and KeyGuide.

How do you glide in AION 2?

Use Jump / Glide / Defiance: Space is the Jump key, and the game's own name for it includes Glide. While flying its hint reads “Change to Glide”; while gliding it reads “End Gliding”. While gliding, KeyGuide also shows “(Hold) Quick Gliding” for Shift and for W (the Move Forward key is named “Move Forward (High-Speed Glide)”).

How do you auto-run?

“Auto Move Forward” is bound to Num Lock by default, and the game's on-foot key hint calls it “Auto Run”. It has no gamepad button in the table.

How do you get the mouse cursor in AION 2?

“Display Cursor” is Alt by default, and the game's hint marks it as a hold (“Show Cursor (Hold)”). “Switch Control Mode” is /.

Can I change the keys?

The table stores the defaults only: 156 actions in 20 groups, the same groups and names the game's key window shows. Whether each row can be rebound is not stored in InputKeyMapping, so we do not claim it. 38 actions ship with no key (Set Defiance Hotkey, Macro, Dismiss Spirits (Spiritmaster Only), Switch Camera Mode, Camera Lock-On, Target Hostile Players and others).

Does AION 2 support a gamepad?

Yes in the files: 34 of the 156 listed actions have a default gamepad button (InputKeyMapping.GamepadKey), and a few rows are marked “Gamepad” only, such as Toggle Gamepad Wheel Mode. The page shows the buttons by position (bottom/right/left/top face button), because the client does not say which console's layout it follows.
