What to do with old gear
The AION 2 global client gives gear you no longer use five exits: decompose it into upgrade materials (3,505 of 3,555 pieces can be), move its Enhance level to other gear with Gear Transfer (58 groups, Transfer Stone (Unique) (Bound) as the cost), hand it in to one of 620 Abyss Supply Requests that list gear, sell it to an NPC (1–179,393 Kinah), or feed it to one of 14 Substance Morph recipes.

Decompose: what you get, by grade and level
Each row is one grade and item level: the same Item.DecomposeResultItemGroup package and Kinah fee for every piece in it. “Gives” is the item's package at +0 and at the highest enhance level the tables list for it. A plain number is guaranteed, a range is the amount, “%” is the chance to get the item at all and avg the expected amount (slots roll independently; our combination, the same as the item pages).
Gear Transfer: keep the enhancement
Transfer (Succession in the files) moves a source item's Enhance level and Soul Binding effects onto another piece of gear; the source is consumed when the transfer succeeds.

Requests of the Abyss Supply Request that list at least one gear piece (2,579 different pieces in all), Elyos and Asmodian copies folded. Order: the first reward per unit handed in, highest first. Handed-in items are destroyed.

The Item table's sell price in Kinah, for the 3,243 gear pieces that have one: lowest, median and highest price by grade and ten item levels. Selling gives Kinah only, nothing is returned from the enhancement.

Does decomposing give back the Enhance Stones I spent?
At +0 it gives the amounts in the first table. Higher enhance levels give more of the stones: an item page shows the full table by level, and how much of the stones spent on average it returns (our calculation).
Can I keep the enhancement of old gear?
Yes, with Gear Transfer: it moves the source's Enhance level and Soul Binding effects onto another piece of gear and consumes the source. It costs Transfer Stone (Unique) (Bound): 2 for Tier 3, 1 for Tier 1, 1 for Tier 2, 1 for Bracelet, and always succeeds in this client.
