AION 2 leveling guide: EXP per level and the story route

The level cap in this client is 45. This page shows what each level band needs and what the quests, dungeons and unlocks in it give, from the game files.

The level cap in the AION 2 client is 45 (GlobalSetting max_level). Reaching it takes 754,816,909 EXP in total, the sum of the Exp table’s NeedExp for levels 1 to 44. The Episode (story) quests below level 45 store 731,578,832 EXP for Elyos and 748,807,465 for Asmodians: 96.9% and 99.2% of that total, as the tables state them.

Formula: EXP to climb from level a to level b = NeedExp(a) + … + NeedExp(b − 1), with NeedExp(L) read as the EXP from level L to L + 1 (Exp table). Known answer: levels 1 → 4 = 1,133 + 1,712 + 2,589 = 5,434. A share above 100% means the stored quest EXP is more than the band needs.

Leveling FAQ

What is the level cap in AION 2?

45 in this client (GlobalSetting max_level). The Exp table has rows far beyond that, and the dungeon and content tables use level 99 for things that are not open yet.

How much EXP does it take to reach level 45?

754,816,909 EXP in total: the sum of NeedExp for levels 1 to 44 in the Exp table (we read NeedExp of a level as the EXP to go from that level to the next). Level 44 alone needs 160,765,875.

How much of the leveling do the story quests give?

Taking the EXP stored on every Episode quest of one faction below level 45, Elyos get 731,578,832 (96.9% of the total) and Asmodians 748,807,465 (99.2%). That counts every quest once, as stored; the client has no EXP rates or penalties to apply, so it is the table's number, not a measured result.

How long does leveling to 45 take?

The client does not store a time: we do not estimate one. The page gives EXP per level band and the EXP each quest stores, which you can compare with your own pace.
