Elyos or Asmodian: does faction matter?
In the AION 2 client the two factions offer the same 8 classes, mirrored gear (all 361 faction-only equipment pieces have a twin with identical stats), wings (all 40) and titles (722 of 724), and skins with the same names. What differs is the starting place (Poeta for Elyos / Ishalgen for Asmodians), the field regions, the story quests and the faction texts. Servers are split by faction, so the choice also decides who you play beside. The client holds no population numbers, so it cannot say which faction is bigger.

What each faction gets, counted
Rows are counted from the generated game data; “both” means the game lists it once for everyone. A twin is an Elyos entry with an Asmodian entry of the same kind and the same stats (matching one to one); the test is named in each row.

The Abyss is a lawless land formed by the collapse of AION, where Elyos, Asmodians, and Balaur clash. + In the Abyss, you can attack players of the opposing faction.

Not in the client: how many players each faction has, win rates or any balance figure. Any claim that one faction is bigger or stronger comes from outside the game files, and this page makes none.

Elyos or Asmodian in AION 2: which should I pick?
The game files give no power difference to choose by: both factions can make the same 8 classes (Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Cleric, Ranger, Spiritmaster, Sorcerer, Chanter), and the faction-only gear, wings and titles come in mirrored pairs (all 361 equipment pairs, all 40 wing pairs and 722 of 724 title pairs have the same grade and stats). Pick by look and story: Elyos: Daeva of Elysea living in the South of Atreia, An elegant and sacred faction; Asmodians: Daeva of Asmodae living in the North of Atreia, A rough, wild, and ambitious faction.
Does faction matter in AION 2?
It decides your starting zone, your field regions, your story quests (376 Elyos, 372 Asmodian, 564 for both) and which players you share a server with, because the Elyos/Asmodian servers are separated. They cannot meet under normal circumstances. The game says of the Abyss: “In the Abyss, you can attack players of the opposing faction.” It does not change your classes or stat tables.
Are Elyos and Asmodian classes the same in AION 2?
Yes in the client: the character-creation table lists the same 8 classes for both factions (Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Cleric, Ranger, Spiritmaster, Sorcerer, Chanter), each marked creatable by everyone.
Which faction is stronger or has more players?
The client cannot say: it holds no population, win-rate or balance data. What it does show is symmetry: 40 Elyos and 40 Asmodian wings, 724 and 724 titles, 361 and 361 faction-only equipment pieces.
Can I change faction later?
We found no faction-change item or text in the item table or the client's strings. What it does say is that the faction decides the server: The Elyos/Asmodian servers are separated. They cannot meet under normal circumstances.
