3 bosses9 warned mechanics20 route steps25 players' notes

Deus Research Base has 3 bosses (Gelcos, Nazmun and Atiel). The game's own guide warns about 5 of their attacks during the Exploration run; the boss cards below quote each warning with the skill, its cast time and what it does. Atiel goes into Frenzy after 5:00 of combat. The walkthrough lists the guide's 20 route steps in order.

Item Level: Exploration 1,200 · Transcendence Stage 1 1,600 · Transcendence Stage 2 1,900 · Transcendence Stage 3 2,200 · Transcendence Stage 4 2,500. Entry, rewards and drops →

Cheat sheet

Each boss with the actions its warnings ask for. The sketches are ours: gold diamond = boss, light dots = players, red = danger, cyan = safe or where to move.

Stagger it — Fill the stagger bar with special skills
Jump — Jump over the wave as it reaches you
Stack up — Stand together to split the damage
Spread out — Stand apart so it hits one at a time
Get in — Go into the safe zone

Rules that apply outside the boss fights, as players describe them.

Tier modifiers

Transcendence

Tiers by entry score 1,600 / 1,900 / 2,200 / 2,500. Tier 2 Balance: dead elites leave purple puddles that hurt you and power up enemies. Tier 3 Wrath: normal enemies hit harder below 50% HP. Tier 4 Judgment: each boss hit adds a stack, 3 stacks drop heavy AoEs on you, stacks can be cleansed. [1]

Kill counter before the last boss

Transcendence

A point counter must fill before the final boss opens. Trash gives 1-2 points, mini-bosses more; tier 4 needs about 150 points inside 30 minutes. One player runs ahead to unlock teleporters. [1]

Respawn at the crystal, not with stones

On the first two bosses the kibelisk is a few seconds from the arena, so revive there. Spend resurrection stones on the last boss, whose arena closes. [5][6]

Start ramp is a fall risk

The ramp at the start of the dungeon is a common place to fall; fly or glide carefully and do not rush ahead of the group. [8]

Players call this the harder of the two

Transcendence

Players say the second boss hits hard and the last boss has the most going on; the other Transcendence is described as having tougher mini-bosses. [2][7]

Players disagree: Opinions split on which Transcendence is harder.

Players' notes

Charge rush and whip field

tank

He charges the furthest player and the whip leaves an electric damage field. Pull him to a corner so the fields stay out of the centre. The tank cannot do much during this; the targeted player should lead the pools away from the middle. [1][3]

Take cover

Pull and whip barrage

dps

Stand behind him for the pull and whip sequence. [1]

Move out

Static zone

<50% HP

A zone pulls players in. Run out, block it, or heal through it. [1]

Find the gap

Nine-line strike

<50% HP

Safe lanes sit close to his body. A second strike follows the first. [1]

Move out

Expanding electric fields

<25% HP

The electric fields grow, so leave room and keep moving. [1]

Players' notes

Pull him to the edge first

tank

Laser pillars gather in the middle, so the tank drags him to the arena edge and the party deals no damage until he is in place. Do not drag him onto the bridge: he resets. [1][3]

Players disagree: Other players warn that pulling the second Transcendence boss too far also resets it; keep him near the edge, not past it.

Jump

Counter-clockwise lasers

The lasers turn counter-clockwise. Jump over them. [1]

Move out

Bombs on the tank

after 75% HPtank

Bombs mark the tank, so the tank moves clear of the group. [1]

Spread out

Two targets

below 35% HP

Two players are targeted at once; move away from the group. [1]

Find the gap

Tank line beam

tank

A beam grows from 1 to 2 to 3 lines. It can be blocked. [1]

Find the gap

Hard-hitting second boss

Players say near-invisible lightning from this boss can one-shot you, so watch the floor. [2]

Phantoms dash along lines from blue portals, and there is knockback near the edge. Stay inside the middle of the floor. [1]

~25% HP

A 10 s stagger check: every player uses their stagger skill, or the group wipes. Four red cones turn counter-clockwise; move with them close to the boss. [1][2]

Find the gap

Three-line push

Stay near the centre. The three-line push throws you off the arena if it hits. [2]

Camera zoom-out

When the camera pulls back it is easy to lose your own character and walk into wind blades or off the edge. Find yourself first. [2][4]

The guide's briefing (3 lines)

Glad you came. It's always nice to see a familiar face, kru! Did you hear the rumors about the Lepharists' Secret Laboratory base as well?

We've come to the right place, kru! It seems that rumor was true after all.

It's a secret base built in ruins where an Abyssal storm rages. I'm already thrilled just thinking about the incredible treasures that might be hidden there, kru!

How this page is made

Game files (client 2026.10.21 (Steam build 26077854, 2026-10-21)): the lines the game shows when a boss casts or uses a skill, gets a buff, starts or dies (NpcBehaviorCase → NpcTalk: “Guide” = the Shugo guide's hint in the Exploration run, “Boss” = the boss's own shout), the skill's name, cast time, cooldown and range (Skill), the buffs and debuffs it applies with the game's text (SkillEffect → SkillAbnormal), the Frenzy timer (NpcData.BossBerserkInvokeTime) and the stagger. Many boss skills are only called “Attack” in the files; those cards are named by their effect or by the action they ask for. HP thresholds are not in the client.

The action label on each card is our reading of the guide's line, by its words: the first that matches of “Big alone, small together”, “Stagger it”, “Stop attacking”, “Break free”, “Climb up”, “Jump”, “Take cover”, “Block it”, “Lure the boss”, “Colours”, “Kill it first”, “Stack up”, “Spread out”, “Find the gap”, “Get in”, “Move out”, “Burn it down”. The line itself is the game's.

The tank cannot do much during this; the targeted player should lead the pools away from the middle. Pull and whip barrage — Stand behind him for the pull and whip sequence.

How do you beat Nazmun in Deus Research Base?

The game's guide says: “Jump to avoid the lasers” Named skills: Trap Install (1 s cast). Players add: Pull him to the edge first — Laser pillars gather in the middle, so the tank drags him to the arena edge and the party deals no damage until he is in place. Do not drag him onto the bridge: he resets. Counter-clockwise lasers — The lasers turn counter-clockwise. Jump over them.

How do you beat Atiel in Deus Research Base?

The game's guide says: “Separate them to sever the chains” “Use a special skill that staggers Atiel before he jumps” “Go through the center so you don't fall off” Named skills: Morphic World (10 s cast).
