Testimony of a Daeva Researcher

The text of this AION 2 lore note, as the global client gives it in English. No quest step asks you to read it, so it is only found in the world.

I knew from the start it was absurd. Still, it felt like something had gotten into me, making the Balaur's proposal sound reasonable. Daeva are suffering in an environment where Odyle is rapidly dwindling, and the Balaur have similar resource shortages. Once they proposed a joint experiment, my doubts quickly faded. There are corrupt Daeva everywhere, so I convinced myself that helping with this experiment might benefit future generations. But one day, I realized the human test subjects—the Daeva I encountered—weren't evil or corrupt. They were ordinary people, including pregnant women and children. Seeing a fellow researcher try to flee, only to be caught and turned into a test subject, I knew I'd be next. To the Balaur, I was little more than a talking lab rat. This record isn't a confession or anything like that. I'm sure these late regrets look pathetic. But... I knew I had to leave a record of all this. I'm already on the list for the next round of experiments. I've managed to smuggle out enough data. The Balaur won't suspect a thing. Rot in hell, all of you! Even if I die, these reports won't be lost... (The rest is unreadable, soaked in blood.)
