We never ceased in waging war against the Asmodians. Our sole mission was to achieve eternal glory for Elysea. But so preoccupied were we with our seemingly endless struggle, we failed to notice the rapid decline in AION's strength.
However, the Empyrean Lords knew better. They foresaw a repeat of history: the collapse of AION Tower and another Balaur invasion. Agreement was unanimous between them that once the tower fell, the barrier would be destroyed and a new one must be erected.
This would require the Elyos and Asmodian Empyrean Lords to join forces, however, the barrier could only cover either Elysea or Asmodae, not both.
Understandably, the Elyos Empyrean Lords refused to bend or compromise with the Asmodians. Why must they give up even an inch of Elysea to save the Asmodians? Neither working together nor choosing sides was an option. Time and again, negotiations were commenced with the Asmodian Empyrean Lords, only to collapse with no progress made. The Asmodians refused to yield until the bitter end.
As these pointless talks dragged on, conflict only intensified in the Abyss, leading to the outbreak of the Last War that would ultimately bring about the complete collapse of AION Tower.
