Zumion Temple was the first AION temple to be built. The structure, erected through AION's power was immense and beautiful. Zumion's Priests, said to possess divine wisdom, enjoyed great popularity among the people. The land upon which Zumion Temple stood was revered for its holiness, and believers across all Atreia yearned to walk upon it.
Though the Balaur ruled over them, humans continued worshipping AION and preserved their faith and culture. But as the Balaur realized their thirst for power and began doubting their god, an ominous energy began to hang over the world.
First of His creations, the Balaur become also the first beings to deceive and threaten AION. They acquired unique powers by themselves and sought to exceed AION. They loathed Him for giving them both life and death. There was no chance the Balaur would look kindly upon temples revering Him.
The Dragon Lords eventually decided to destroy all of the temples in Atreia, and they soon succeeded, terrorizing humans as they did so. Yet even as the temples lay in ruins, and Meslamtaeda finally stood before the Zumion Temple, he remained unsatisfied. In a low, terrible voice, he spoke a curse.
"Silence shall reign eternal at Zumion Temple!"
Once the curse was spoken, the priests and believers within Zumion Temple turned to stone, and the temple sank into the water. The fall of Zumion Temple, a symbol of their god AION, came as a great shock to humanity. Oppressed by fear, the humans dared not raise the temple again, and in time, Zumion Temple disappeared from memory. Even now, with the Balaur pushed outside the Bulwark, it remains beneath the water, silent.
