Savior of Karas, Nornir

After the Last War, those left outside the Bulwark were forced to endure Odyle shortages and unexplained mutations. Fear soon took hold, and anyone who showed signs of mutation was branded a Karas. Many who had only just begun to transform were banished or buried alive before they even understood what was happening.
Only the Three Sisters of Fate were able to restore order in this age of chaos. Living in seclusion within the Moslan Forest, they offered refuge to fleeing Karas and discovered a way to halt the progression of the Karas mutation through the use of petrification magic.
Those whose mutations were halted concealed the remaining signs beneath heavy garments and made their home deep within the forest alongside the Three Sisters. Thus, the group known as the Nornir was born.
The Three Sisters taught the Nornir magic and divination so they could survive beyond the Bulwark. To the Nornir, the Three Sisters were both saviors and mentors. Without their guidance, Altgard would have fallen into even greater devastation and despair.
With deep remorse for failing to trust my teacher, and with profound respect for the achievements of the Three Sisters, I dedicate this book to Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld, the Three Sisters of Fate.
