Tagar: So you and Ulgorn ended up going to the crypt, right? Did I ever mention that place is cursed.

Tagar: It's tainted with people's grudges... Heh. Walking in there on your own is like begging fate to strike you down.

Tagar: Ulgorn kept badgering me, saying he felt like he'd been cursed. Even when I told him downing all those bottles of holy water wouldn't help, he kept insisting.

Tagar: Then he ran off to Kolina. I taught her, but if she was talented enough to know such methods, she'd already be sitting on a pile of Kina.

Tagar: Go tell him again for me that there's no way to lift the curse of the crypt.

Talk · 1 line

Tagar: Hey! ‹your name›! Come here for a moment.

Step 1 · 11 lines

Ulgorn: ‹your name›! Perfect timing! You have to hear this right now! I've got some incredible information!

Kolina: Haha, I'm glad I could help.

Ulgorn: How have you been feeling after the crypt? I've been having nightmares and feeling heavier than usual ever since.

Ulgorn: The rumors of a curse must be true after all!

Ulgorn: I've been asking for a way to lift it, but Tagar just got angry with me and wasn't any help at all.

Ulgorn: But then Kolina here told me the solution just like that! ‹your name›, let's purge this curse together!

Kolina: Haha, it's actually my nephew who told me the method. He's smart, so it should be trustworthy.

Ulgorn: Your nephew? You didn't mention that before... Are you sure it'll work? I'm deathly serious about this!

Kolina: Well, no one has ever come back alive from that crypt in the first place... So I can't be certain, but my nephew wouldn't lie!

Ulgorn: Hmm... Fine, just give me the details.

Kolina: He wrote it all down in a note. It seems there's a lot to do, so please read it carefully.

Step 3 · 7 lines

Ulgorn: ...This isn't just a joke, right?

Kolina: What!? A-Absolutely not! There's no way I'd joke about such a matter...

Ulgorn: Ugh... There's no choice then. This is all we have to rely on right now. Let's do it!

Kolina: In that case, I'd recommend the Old Crypt nearby! It's a perfect place for a ritual for the dead.

Kolina: In the innermost room, there should be an incense burner. I heard lighting it calms the spirits of the dead.

Kolina: Ah! Of course, it's been a while since anyone has been there, so be careful. Who knows what state it's in...

Ulgorn: Another crypt... Well, it's not as if we have much choice. ‹your name›, let's go.

Step 5 · 7 lines

Ulgorn: Okay, I prepared what I could for the next step.

Ulgorn: I'm talking about the second step to lifting the curse. We need to receive a blessing of luck from someone close.

Ulgorn: On the way here, I asked Nemon, Hadala, and Dinoh to write letters. It felt awkward to suddenly ask for items, so a letter seemed more appropriate.

Ulgorn: You know... I've known them for a while, but this is the first time I've ever received letters from them...

Ulgorn: Why am I feeling so nervous...? ‹your name›, could you read them for me?

Ulgorn: All right, let's start with... Hadala's letter.

Ulgorn: Why did she write some letters in a different color...? Did her ink keep running out...? Anyway, next letter!

Step 6 · 1 line

Ulgorn: ... Huh? There's nothing written here? Next!

Step 7 · 1 line

Ulgorn: What is this crap? Damn that Dinoh?

Talk · 40 lines

Ulgorn: Why does the atmosphere feel so... off? It's like a wraith banquet in here.

Ulgorn: We can't give up now. Let's deal with them.

Ulgorn: Be careful, there are more than we thought.

Ulgorn: Is it over? Getting here was tough, but it was simpler than I thought.

Ulgorn: All right, the first step of lifting the curse is done...

Ulgorn: W-Wait, did you hear a sound from over there? Th-Those caskets... they're moving!

Ulgorn: Is this another trap?

Ulgorn: Will this be okay? We came to perform a ritual...

Ulgorn: Well, may they find peace...

Ulgorn: Is it... Is it over?

Ulgorn: Ahem... Somehow, we ended up defeating all the dead...

Ulgorn: Was this a ritual or an exorcism?

Ulgorn: At... At least they've found peace now... Ahem.

Ulgorn: They're probably happy not to be trapped in those caskets anymore. Let's just say the first step was successful.

Ulgorn: ...What do you mean I'm just kidding myself? Words have power, you know! You'll end up jinxing us after we worked so hard up until now!

Ulgorn: All right, all right, shall we get out of here now? It's getting chilly. We don't want to catch a cold.

Ulgorn: Let's meet back at Safe Haven.

Ulgorn: Wait... it's blocked by a door?

Ulgorn: The Incense Burner is supposed to be in the innermost room...

Ulgorn: This thing's in the way, so we can't get in. Damn it!

Ulgorn: Let's look around for a way to open it.

What's this device...?

I'll check this side.

Obtained Prison Door Key from the corpse's hand.

Ulgorn: Aahhh!

Ulgorn: W-W-What's happening!?

Ulgorn: I touched this device, and the door closed! ‹your name›! Open it! Now!

I thought I'd rot in this chamber forever...

Ulgorn: Phew... You're a lifesaver.

Ulgorn: Why are there so many ominous devices in here?

Ulgorn: But fortunately, after touching that, the door to that hallway also opened.

Ulgorn: Oh? You found a record about the crypt? What did it say?

Ulgorn: It's a tomb of a high noble equipped with traps to prevent grave robbers? Even in death, they only care about material possessions...

Ulgorn: Anyway, the door is open, so let's go inside. We've come this far. We can't give up.

Ulgorn: Be careful, there might be wraiths in the passage, too.

Ulgorn: The door is blocked again. Luckily, there's a device next to it.

Ulgorn: Please don't tell me it's another trap...?

Ulgorn: Great! The door opened!

Ulgorn: These coffins sure are creepy... But I can see the incense burner in the center.

Ulgorn: Now, let's perform the ritual for the dead.

Turning in · 6 lines

Ulgorn: What do you mean I have to send this to seven people within four days or I'll be cursed for three years?

Ulgorn: I went through all this trouble to lift a curse, and now he curses me again?

Ulgorn: Damn it, I need to get started on those letters immediately.

Ulgorn: I can't afford to face another curse after all this effort. Urgh, what a pain...

Ulgorn: What? You're worried I'll send a letter to you too? Why would I do that after all we've been through together?

Ulgorn: Don't worry, I'm not that kind of person. Anyway, thanks for your help. I have to go write letters now.

When it is done

"Let's purge this curse together!" Ever since returning from the crypt, Ulgorn had been plagued by nightmares of corpses chasing him and giant spiders devouring him alive. He could not remember the last time he had awakened feeling rested, and his body felt heavy with exhaustion. There was only one explanation. He was certain he had been cursed. After enduring days of Ulgorn's complaints, the gravekeeper Tagar had finally had enough. Knowing that no such cure existed, he simply watched Ulgorn wander off in search of his assistant, convinced he had found another gullible fool. Following the assistant's advice, Ulgorn asked you to accompany him to the tomb of a deceased Daeva noble. Not because he was afraid to go alone, of course, but because he was convinced that you had probably been cursed as well. Together, you performed a proper rite for the dead before returning to the village to seek a "blessing of luck." "You know... I've known them for a while, but this is the first time I've ever received letters from them..." Ulgorn anxiously read the letters he had received. Hadala's handwriting was elegant, though a few letters were written in a different color for some inexplicable reason. Perhaps she had simply run out of ink, he thought, making a mental note to buy her some as a token of thanks. Nemon's letter was completely blank, front and back. Had she used some kind of magical encryption? Then came Dinoh's letter. The brat had passed along a cursed chain letter! Now Ulgorn had to hand-copy the absurdly long letter seven times and pass it on to others within three days. What a nightmare! Who should receive the first copy? Maybe Galorik... For some reason, the word "IDIOT" would not leave Ulgorn's mind. He had already lifted the crypt's curse... so what what could this be now?
