Defense: “Basic Defense. Higher Defense reduces Damage taken.” (the game's description). Defense comes from Gear (up to 6,574), Enhance (up to 4,873), Amplified Enhance (up to 1,532), soul-binding extra stats on 1,925 items, manastones (up to 100 a stone).

How to increase Defense
The most each permanent system can add at level 45: the best item for every slot, top levels, everything owned (the same ceilings as How to get stronger). A real character has less.

An extra stat drawn when the item is soul-bound; the highest rolls first. Each item page shows the chance of getting it.
