Nemon: Welcome, ‹your name›. Do you remember Menrik from the Fang Legion?

Nemon: We owed him one for helping capture that Blade.

Nemon: Menrik called me on the Selvis a little while ago. Sounds like they're negotiating with the Blades using the captive, and they need some help.

Nemon: Menrik is a man of honor. He's shared a lot of useful information with us before. I don't want to refuse his request for help.

Nemon: But I can't show my face in anything related to the Blades. That's why I wanted to ask you.

Nemon: I trust your skills, and Menrik will be satisfied too. What do you say? How about joining the Fang Legion on this operation?

Talk · 2 lines

Nemon: All right, then head to the Fang Hideout. Menrik will be waiting for you.

Nemon: ‹your name›, I have something for you to do.

Step 1 · 8 lines

Menrik: Oh, it's been a while since I've seen you in person. I was told you'd be coming.

Menrik: I need some help with the Blades Captive.

Menrik: He was cooperative for the first few days, but lately, he's been spitting at the guards bringing him food.

Menrik: His attitude kept getting worse, so I was just going to kill him... but it turns out he might be someone important in the Blades.

Menrik: Someone claiming to be high up in the Blades contacted us, asking for his release. He offered secret Balaur information in return, and it didn't seem like a bluff.

Menrik: So we're planning on meeting them, but we felt uneasy going by ourselves, so we requested support.

Menrik: Shall we get moving then? The captive is being held in the Prison Cell.

Menrik: They're highly untrustworthy, so watch out for dirty tricks.

Menrik: Wait, I think that's one of our guys?

Aran: We're in trouble!

Aran: Men... Menrik! The... The Blades... Urk...

Menrik: What's going on? Deep breaths!

Aran: The Blades... They raided our hideout! Everyone was... ugh!

Menrik: What? A raid? Did the hideout's location get leaked?

Menrik: Could that bastard have planned this from the start? Shit!

Menrik: Aran, you should stay here. You're too badly injured. Just hide until you're safe.

Aran: *cough* If you insist... Please be careful, Menrik... Ugh...

Menrik: Thank you. We need to hurry, ‹your name›!

Please be careful...

Blades Bomber: Urk... You're not just all talk, I see.

Blades Bomber: All right, all right... I give up. Let's use our words, okay?

Blades Bomber: Looks like I'm the only Blade left here, and you can't afford to lose a valuable captive if you want to negotiate, right?

Menrik: Shut up! You think you're in any position to negotiate?

Blades Bomber: Whoa, calm down... You're the one who captured me first for no reason.

Menrik: Don't act like you're the good guy here. You Blades are nothing but filthy lackeys of the Balaur, selling out your fellow Daeva!

Blades Bomber: Hahaha! You think you have the upper hand here, don't you? But let me kindly inform you of something.

Blades Bomber: I've planted a bomb on your friend here. If I press this, he'll be sprayed all over the walls.

Blades Bomber: What's faster? Your sword arm or my trigger finger?

Menrik: You good-for-nothing—!

Blades Bomber: Watch your tongue. I'll give you a chance in recognition of the quality time we spent together.

Blades Bomber: Let me go, and I'll give you time to disarm the bomb. Choose between my life or your friend's.

Menrik: Damn it!

Menrik: ... ‹your name›, disarm that bomb.

Menrik: I'll keep a close eye on this bastard. I'll let you go after confirming the bomb is safely disarmed.

Blades Bomber: Haha! Good, good. You can be stubborn, but you're surprisingly reasonable.

Don't even think about trying any more tricks.

See? Not causing any trouble.

Ugh...

Fang Legion Captive: Ugh... M... Menrik?

Fang Legion Captive: No! Stop!

Fang Legion Captive: It's a trap!

Fang Legion Captive: R-Run... Run away!

Blades Bomber: Hahaha! You idiots! I'll show you what my bombs are capable of!

Menrik: Ugh... Damn it, he tricked us...

Menrik: Chase after him! I'll... I'll follow... as soon as I can...

Blades Bomber: Haha, you're a tough one, eh?

Blades Bomber: Fine, take more bombs!

Menrik: ‹your name›, wait!

Menrik: Are you hurt? It's a miracle the hideout didn't collapse.

Menrik: Masocon is holding him off outside to buy us time. Let's hurry!

Masocon: Argh!

Menrik: Is that Masocon's voice? No way!

Menrik: Masocon's gone...? Aran!

Aran: Ugh... Menrik...

Aran: I tried to stop him... but I couldn't... He even dragged Masocon away...

Aran: He said he'll make him suffer the same way... I'm... I'm sorry, Menrik... I couldn't be... of any help.

Menrik: No... This is all my fault. Damn it!

Menrik: I was too focused on using him as a negotiation tool that I neglected what was most important—everyone's safety.

Menrik: With my careless thinking, I put our members in danger...

Menrik: ‹your name›, I truly appreciate your help, but could I ask you for one more favor?

Menrik: We need to send word to the others. Please deliver my message to Gamilla at the Watcher's Tent.

Menrik: They need to be on alert for ambushes.

Menrik: I'll pursue the captive immediately. I will not let him get the better of us!

Menrik: Nobody else will be sacrificed to my incompetence. Go, now!

Menrik: Damn it, I underestimated them. I should have been more suspicious...

Menrik: Is that... Masocon? We need to help him!

Menrik! You're alive!

Masocon: I'm glad you're safe. I don't know if you've heard, but the hideout has been attacked by the Blades...

Menrik: Aran told me. What about the others?

Masocon: I barely managed to escape in all the chaos... Are you planning to go inside?

Menrik: We can't abandon the hideout like this. Our friend here will help us.

Menrik: Aran's injuries are severe. Please check on her first.

Masocon: Understood, I'll go check.

Masocon: Both of you... Please be careful.

Menrik: Don't worry. ‹your name›, I'll watch your back just in case.

Menrik: They are incredibly cunning, so we don't know where they might be waiting in ambush. Let's proceed carefully.

Menrik: The Blades will be everywhere. Stay alert.

Ha! Look at those pathetic Fangs!

We'll take your leader's life as well!

Never underestimate the Blades!

Piss off, you miserable louts!

The Fangs never break!

Menrik: Let's quickly take care of the rest!

Menrik: I'll show no mercy to these Blades bastards!

Menrik: Not many left! Let's finish off the rest!

We'll make good use of your hideout!

Menrik: Phew, is it over...?

Menrik: We need to check on our comrades. See if anyone's alive.

Menrik: Wait... I hear a sound from over there.

Fang Legionnaire: M-Menrik!

Menrik: Please, check over here!

Fang Legionnaire: *cough* You're safe...

Menrik: Are you all right? I'm sorry... I shouldn't have trusted them so easily...

Fang Legionnaire: I'm... I'm fine... *cough* But inside...

Fang Legionnaire: The Blades Captive... He... *cough* He took another Fang with him to the Prison Cell...

Menrik: Damn, I forgot about him. ‹your name›, we need to go to the Prison Cell!

Menrik: We can't afford to lose any more comrades! Let's move out now!

Menrik: Damn that son of a Balaur!

Menrik: I should've killed him from the start!

Blades Bomber: Haha! How d'you like that? Feeling the heat in the back of your head?

Menrik: This is the way to the Prison Cell. Hurry, let's go!

Menrik! I've always wanted to punch that smug face of yours!

Turning in · 9 lines

Gamilla: Oh! It's good to see you again. Wait, the smell of gunpowder... What happened?

Gamilla: The Hideout!? I heard from Menrik about plans to negotiate with the Blades using the captive...

Gamilla: This is serious. I'll make sure to inform everyone here and at the Dumpsite.

Gamilla: Menrik must be having a hard time because of all this. ....‹your name›. May I ask you a personal favor?

Gamilla: Menrik will surely make a move on his own if he finds the Blades. He's always been sensitive about losing people...

Gamilla: If we leave Menrik alone and something goes wrong... I don't even want to imagine it.

Gamilla: Menrik is the spirit of the Fang Legion. Without him, we wouldn't last another week.

Gamilla: I'll contact you if we need anything, so would you go help Menrik instead? I'm sure you'd be of more use than we could...

Gamilla: Thank you. If we can't contact Menrik, I'll ask for your help immediately.

When it is done

"Someone claiming to be high up in the Blades contacted us, asking for his release. He offered secret Balaur information in return." The Fang Legion are widely known for their ability to gather intelligence. The scattered Asmodians of Altgard, unable to form large groups, manage to stay hidden from the Balaur thanks in part to the Fang Legion operating in the shadows. A Blood Blade they recently captured was being uncooperative and increasingly aggressive. Ordinary soldiers could not handle him, and he only pretended to behave around Menrik, the Legion's commander. Just as Menrik was debating whether to simply dispose of the captive, the Blades made contact, offering information in return for his release. Menrik struck a deal with the Blades, easing off on his doubts and agreeing to their terms. But on the day of the exchange, the Blades were nowhere to be seen, until word arrived that they had raided the Fang Legion's hideout instead. The Fang Legion fended off the assault and rushed to the holding cell. The captive taunted Menrik with a smug grin. "No! Stop! It's a trap!" The plea of one of Menrik's legionnaires was cut off by an explosion. As the tremors subsided, Menrik realized he had been tricked, having allowed himself to focus too much on how he might use the captive. "I will not let him get the better of us!" The Blades captive fled, taking a Fang legionnaire as a hostage. Menrik could not stand by and allow another comrade to suffer for his shortcomings, promising to track the captive down by any means necessary.
