Taiwanese players describe the Ranger in PvP as a kiter: slow and stun with traps, keep 
Marking Shot up for the stun chance on 
Suppressing Arrow, and fight from the back of team fights. Their forum complains that the class is almost impossible to crowd-control, and the 17173 write-up calls it strong in group fights but awkward against dashing melee and high-defence Templars.

Ranger PvP questions
Is this a Ranger PvP ranking?
No. It takes the strongest Ranger characters by Combat Power and shows their PvP side. The official character service shares no PvP ranking, so nobody can list the best PvP players from it; these are the best-geared ones and what they put into PvP.
Why does the game's character window show more?
We add up what we can read: the lines of the worn gear (manastones included), the open Daevanion nodes and the equipped titles. Base stats, wings, pets, skins and buffs are not in it, so the window shows more. Your own character is counted the same way, so the comparison is fair.
Who is counted and how often?
The 100 strongest Ranger characters of the region by Combat Power whose gear and Daevanion boards we have read (for all regions: the 100 strongest of the regions together), recounted every 6 hours. A block shows from 20 characters; under 50 it is marked low sample. Every PvP node is on Azphel.
Character data comes from NCSOFT's public character service (the official AION 2 character search). Combat Power and Item Level are the numbers it reports; the game doesn't publish their formulas. Rankings cover level-45 characters updated in the last 35 days. They are not official rankings.
