The Assassin Before the 16 / 20 breakpoints build in AION 2 (Leveling, damage) is played around Quick Slice 10, Heart Gore 10 and Insignia Explosion 10, with Swift Contract 10, Triniel's Dagger 10, Illusive Clone 15 and Evasion Stance 5 as stigmas. From 5 player sources on Reddit and Inven (KR), updated Oct 17, 2026; every name checked against the client.
Until the breakpoints arrive, keep the bar small: Insignia Explosion and Heart Gore on the macro, Quick Slice held on the left button, and spend stigma points on the pair that players buy first. Expect to be passed over in public groups and to form your own.
Thin evidence: no post is a leveling guide. This build is assembled from complaint and advice threads and one Korean ranking, which calls the class weak at low level.
Illusive CloneLv 15One poster builds toward 15 first and 20 later; another rushes 20 and drops the other two. The client's level-15 option is x1.5 Exploit Weakness.
Evasion StanceLv 5Cheap survival while you learn mechanics.
What each level of the build's skills opens in the client — the options you pick at 8 (actives) and the ones that come at 12, 16 and the stigma levels.
Options and the levels that open them are the client's (SpecializedSkillParts); lit = reached at the level this build aims for (skill points buy up to 10, stigmas 20 — the rest are bonus levels).
Talents: Daevanion boards
All five boards with a computed build for this role already learned — lit nodes are taken. Then what players do on the boards.
Most skill levels: +35 skill levels · 88 nodes · 136 pts. Computed by us — again and again the cheapest path with the most of the goal per point, for the points levels give at the cap. Change it in the planner →
What players do
•Skill nodes for the three core skills first; boards can be reset.
Gear for the Before the 16 / 20 breakpoints build
The Assassin's top pieces, and what this build wants rolled on each.
% = chance one soul binding gives that line on that piece — our calculation from the client's weights, as on the item pages. Skills listed are the ones this build raises past what points buy; stats are the ones it ranks. Gear Transfer moves good lines onto a better piece.
2Fight from behind: back attacks are the point of the class.
Tips and common mistakes
Tips
✦Players say Assassins are passed over below about 100k combat power; making your own group is the usual answer.
Common mistakes
✕Spending points on many damage skills instead of the three core buttons.
Where this build comes from
Medium on the diagnosis (the class is weak before the breakpoints), low on the exact stigma order: one thread puts Swift Contract and Triniel's Dagger first, another puts Clone first.
Read on Oct 17, 2026 on Reddit and Inven (KR); the words are ours. Every skill, stigma and stat named here exists in the global client 2.0.6.0 hotfix 1 — a name it does not have stops our build.

Where does this build come from?
Medium on the diagnosis (the class is weak before the breakpoints), low on the exact stigma order: one thread puts Swift Contract and Triniel's Dagger first, another puts Clone first. Sources: Assassin Skill / Stigma question; Assassin feels heavily underpowered compared to every other class. Please fix this; Uptime on boss vs long CD Big Dam stigmas -assassin question; People who say "make your own groups" don't play assassin or glad.
Damage comes from one burst window: Swift Contract, Illusive Clone and Triniel's Dagger go up together, and while they run you spam Insignia Explosion and Heart Gore from behind the boss. A right-click macro holds the spam and the left button is held down at the same time so Quick Slice cancels animations and keeps cooldowns turning. Savage Fang is the fourth stigma here; the next build swaps it for safety.
The same bar, macro and burst window, with Evasion Stance in the fourth stigma slot instead of Savage Fang. Supporters say it saves deaths, stamina and uptime while you learn a fight; opponents say Savage Fang is worth more once you can dodge well. Illusive Clone, Swift Contract and Triniel's Dagger are not in dispute.

Evidence is a long argument rather than a measured test: at least five commenters back Evasion Stance and at least four back Savage Fang, none with a damage comparison.
Korean guides describe the Assassin in PvP as a fragile fighter who wins by picking its fights: open from stealth or a stun, burst with the Quick Slice / Insignia Explosion / Heart Gore trio, and use Defiance to survive. Stat lines favour Accuracy and PvP damage over defence.
Korean material from August to October, and Korea cut PvP damage by about 30% on 14 Oct and changed block and dodge refunds; global has neither. One October guide calls this the Assassin's darkest period. Do not copy numbers.
