The Assassin PvE burst (Clone window) build in AION 2 (PvE, damage) is played around Insignia Explosion 16, Heart Gore 16 and Savage Roar, with Illusive Clone 20, Swift Contract 10, Triniel's Dagger 10 and Savage Fang 10 as stigmas; stats in order: Critical Hit > Cooldown Reduction > Combat Speed > Multi-hit Chance. From 14 player sources on Reddit, Inven (KR) and Bahamut (TW), updated Oct 17, 2026; every name checked against the client.
Damage comes from one burst window: Swift Contract, Illusive Clone and Triniel's Dagger go up together, and while they run you spam Insignia Explosion and Heart Gore from behind the boss. A right-click macro holds the spam and the left button is held down at the same time so Quick Slice cancels animations and keeps cooldowns turning. Savage Fang is the fourth stigma here; the next build swaps it for safety.
Gold numbers are past what skill points buy (level 10): the rest comes from Daevanion skill nodes, soul binding and arcana — how to get there.
Insignia Explosion — Top of the macro and the main damage source in players' meters. Its level-16 option is -3s cooldown; level 12 adds +1s Stun duration.
Heart Gore — Spammed inside the Clone window. Its level-16 option resets its own cooldown on a Critical Hit — see the note under tips, because under a 50% crit cap it fires on about half the hits.
Savage Roar — Last in the macro chain. Its level-12 option is -1s Shadowstrike cooldown on hit, which is why Korean guides call it nearly required.
Quick Slice — Hold on the left mouse button, never in the macro. Level 12 takes -1s off Insignia Explosion on hit and level 16 makes the hit ignore Block and Evasion and land as a Critical Hit — players say this level is the bigger jump.
Ambush — Optional in the macro, and disputed (see agree). Level 8 engraves 2 Insignias when it lands as a Back attack.
Storm Rampage — Press by hand during a stagger, not in the macro. Level 16 is -1s all skill cooldowns on hit; several players call it a DPS loss inside the macro.
Shadowstrike — The way to get behind the boss and open the burst.
Infiltrate — Mobility tied to dodging; use it to reposition after a roll.
Flash Slice — Third repositioning skill.
Stigmas
Illusive CloneLv 20The burst buff. Level 10 adds +20% Critical Damage Boost; level 20 gives a 50% chance of extra damage on a Critical Hit. One player measured about +15% damage at 20; another says Assassins start out-damaging others around 15.
Swift ContractLv 10Pairs with Clone. At level 10 the client doubles down on a passive: x1.5 Rear Smite effect for the duration.
Triniel's DaggerLv 10Level 10 is -10% all skill cooldowns on hit, the breakpoint players mean. One top player wants 20; the client's level-20 line is +3% all skill cooldowns.
Savage FangLv 10A once-a-minute nuke and stagger tool. Players quote about 10% PvE damage, but the client puts +10% PvE Damage Boost at level 15; level 10 is +50 Stagger Gauge Damage.
Gold numbers are past what skill points buy (level 10): the rest comes from Daevanion skill nodes, soul binding and arcana — how to get there.

What players do
•Spend every point and use all general boards — Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel: their skill nodes give +1 each, which is how Heart Gore reaches 16. One player ended at 15 from the last board and was a single point short.
•Skill nodes for your three core skills first. Korean guides take every Additional Attack node before anything else.
•No Reddit post agrees on exact nodes; one poster followed a third-party planner, so treat node paths as a starting point.
Gear for the PvE burst (Clone window) build
The Assassin's top pieces, and what this build wants rolled on each.
% = chance one soul binding gives that line on that piece — our calculation from the client's weights, as on the item pages. Skills listed are the ones this build raises past what points buy (Insignia Explosion, Heart Gore, Quick Slice, Storm Rampage); stats are the ones it ranks. Gear Transfer moves good lines onto a better piece.
Armor, cloak, earrings, necklace:These roll passive skill levels only: Korean guides want Rear Smite, Assault Stance, Exploit Weakness and Impact Hit. Note that Swift Contract and Clone amplify the first three at levels 10 and 15.
Stat lines: Damage Boost, Critical Damage Boost, Double Chance — the Korean must-haves on every slot; Attack and the passives come after.
•Players report that a gold arcana card is the cheapest way to the last levels: put it on Heart Gore, Quick Slice or Insignia Explosion, whichever is short of 16.
2Burst: Swift Contract, then Illusive Clone, then Triniel's Dagger — together. Korean guides press Swift Contract first so the Clone animation is shorter. The window lasts 20 s, so do not spend it in a phase change or while the boss is immune.
3Storm Rampage by hand when the boss staggers, once it is 16.
4Set the boss-direction indicator to show your back-attack side.
Tips and common mistakes
Tips
✦A 110k-power Assassin who tops charts advises 85–95% back-attack uptime, learning the perfect-dodge timing on key attacks (a twang sound confirms it) and holding both mouse buttons.
✦Does Heart Gore 16 matter? The client's level-16 option resets its cooldown only on a Critical Hit, and global Critical Hit stops at 50%. A top-10 server player found Quick Slice 16 the bigger gain, because that option makes the hit a Critical Hit by itself. Level 12 still adds Multi-Hit on hit.
✦If Heart Gore casts drop, check your targeting: one player lost casts when not locked on.
✦Korean guides add that the macro should stay one line, and that each extra line cuts hits per slot.
✦Taiwanese players (Bahamut, Oct) rank the same two skills on top, Heart Gore first and Insignia Explosion second, and stress staying behind the boss. They keep Storm Rampage ahead of Heart Gore in their macro and use Triniel's Dagger with the Clone rather than with the buff button, since it cuts a share of the cooldown that is left. Both points differ from the advice above, so test them.
✦Taiwan-only: players there roll pet-board slots 3 and 9 for Double Chance and back damage, and their 9/9 and 9/16 patches changed how Heart Gore chains in a macro. Neither is confirmed for global.
Common mistakes
✕Entering Transcendence 1–2 without Heart Gore 16, Quick Slice 16 and Illusive Clone 20: players report damage near 15k from setups like that.
✕Wasting Illusive Clone on a phase change or after a death — its cooldown is around a minute and a half.
✕Keeping Throw Shadowblade on the bar before the gear is high: players advise dropping it for dashes and uptime.
Where this build comes from
Strong on the breakpoints: more than ten commenters across seven Reddit threads name Heart Gore, Quick Slice and Insignia Explosion at 16 and Illusive Clone at 20, and two Korean September guides rest on the same three skills at 20. Disputed: whether Ambush belongs in the macro (a Korean guide says yes, another says bind it separately), whether Heart Gore 16 or Quick Slice 16 matters more, and Clone first or Swift Contract and Triniel's Dagger first; Taiwanese players on Bahamut run the same core.

The same bar, macro and burst window, with Evasion Stance in the fourth stigma slot instead of Savage Fang. Supporters say it saves deaths, stamina and uptime while you learn a fight; opponents say Savage Fang is worth more once you can dodge well. Illusive Clone, Swift Contract and Triniel's Dagger are not in dispute.

Evidence is a long argument rather than a measured test: at least five commenters back Evasion Stance and at least four back Savage Fang, none with a damage comparison.
Korean guides describe the Assassin in PvP as a fragile fighter who wins by picking its fights: open from stealth or a stun, burst with the Quick Slice / Insignia Explosion / Heart Gore trio, and use Defiance to survive. Stat lines favour Accuracy and PvP damage over defence.
Korean material from August to October, and Korea cut PvP damage by about 30% on 14 Oct and changed block and dodge refunds; global has neither. One October guide calls this the Assassin's darkest period. Do not copy numbers.
Until the breakpoints arrive, keep the bar small: Insignia Explosion and Heart Gore on the macro, Quick Slice held on the left button, and spend stigma points on the pair that players buy first. Expect to be passed over in public groups and to form your own.

Thin evidence: no post is a leveling guide. This build is assembled from complaint and advice threads and one Korean ranking, which calls the class weak at low level.
