Menrik: We recently had a legionnaire go missing, only to appear some days later on the path below the Impetusium.
Menrik: I expect he was caught up in the portal that suddenly appeared there.
Menrik: He described the terrain beyond the portal as... bizarre. As if space and time had been twisted.
Menrik: More concerning still, he claimed to have seen the Bakarma Brigade there. Yes, the very same that vanished when AION was destroyed.
Menrik: If true, it is imperative we do something about them before they can pose a threat.
Menrik: There are few I trust to look into this more than you. Kiara will be waiting for you at the portal.
Step 1 · 12 lines
Ivar: Salutations! It's a pleasure to meet you again. Are you planning to enter the Abyss, ‹your name›?
Ivar: What's that? You've already experienced the distortion of time and space at Draupnir? You're sure full of surprises...
Ivar: Just like Draupnir, the Abyss is a distorted dimension filled with a great deal of unstable energy.
Ivar: That Koro you mentioned is a Shugo of the Black Cloud Merchants. If there's anything in the Abyss worth some Kina, they'll sniff it out.
Ivar: They're also helping us with the supplies we need, so we pay them back with any useful information we learn.
Skarm: I'm sure you've heard it plenty already, but the Abyss is a place of many dangers.
Skarm: The Balaur are the least of your worries in there. You may also encounter a number of enemies from other dimensions.
Ivar: Pah! Haven't you heard, Skarm? Our friend ‹your name› here has already taken out Bakarma himself.
Skarm: Forgive me, I wasn't doubting your abilities. I just want to ensure you know what to expect.
Skarm: You can enter the Abyss through this portal whenever you're ready.
Ivar: Koro can be found at the base the portal connects to.
Ivar: Good luck!
Step 2 · 5 lines
Kiara: There you are. You have no idea how relieved I was after hearing you were being asked to investigate, ‹your name›.
Kiara: This portal leads to the entrance of Draupnir. Well, we think so, at least.
Kiara: If the Bakarma Brigade really are in there, then it makes sense if it's the Draupnir Cave that vanished with them.
Kiara: Draupnir Cave used to be part of Bellusran, but it was consumed by a dimensional rift when AION collapsed.
Kiara: Good luck in there. Not that you need it.
Step 3 · 6 lines
Asrik: Hello there, ‹your name›. Menrik told me you'd be coming.
Asrik: As you've heard, the Bakarma Brigade recently appeared in the Abyss. It was certain they were wiped out in Bellusran...
Asrik: Not only are they back, but there are also signs they're gathering greater strength.
Asrik: Who knows what they might be up to, but you can bet it's nothing good for us.
Asrik: In any case, it's fortunate we came across them before they made their move. We need to learn what we can before it's too late.
Asrik: The entrance to Draupnir can be found on the Archipelago of Siel's Wings. Keep your head on a swivel, though. Both Balaur and Elyos are known to appear in the surrounding area.
Step 4 · 4 lines
Kiara: I knew you'd make it out safe!
Kiara: Is it true? Did you really kill Bakarma, even after he'd transcended?
Kiara: Can you go tell Koro what you found? I'll report straight to Menrik!
Kiara: Koro is a member of the Black Cloud Merchants, a Shugo guild operating in the Abyss. Ivar can tell you more. You'll find him guarding the portal.
Turning in · 7 lines
Koro: And you are? Haven't seen your face around here before, nyerk.
Koro: You came at the request of the Fang Legion? Do you have valuable information?
Koro: Nyerk?! There are distorted dimensions other than the Abyss?! That's valuable information indeed!
Koro: As you're no doubt aware, Odyle has been depleting steadily since AION collapsed.
Koro: But the Odyle here in the Abyss flows differently to that back in Asmodae! Thanks to the distorted spacetime, I'd wager, nyerk.
Koro: Meaning it should also be overflowing with valuable materials, don't you think? Thanks for the info. Have a look around, if you'd like, nyerk.
Koro: But I'll warn you now—this place is a constant battlefield. Anyone you encounter here can become your enemy, nyerk.
When it is done
"Anyone you encounter here can become your enemy, nyerk." Beyond the portal, you dealt with Bakarma, who had transcended his Balaur form. As expected, you had indeed found yourself in the long-lost Draupnir Cave. Space-time itself was warped, and the lifeforms found inside were heavily mutated. At the request of the Fang Legion, you met with Koro, a Shugo of the Black Cloud Merchants, to relay what you found there. In return, he told you more about the Abyss. Much like Draupnir, it is a place where space-time itself is distorted, and even the Odyle flows differently to back in Asmodae. You were left with a warning of caution, because the Abyss is a place where conflict never ceases.
